Max Percussion
Rhythms of West Africa, Soulful Jazz Fusion
Max Percussion, founded and led by three-time Grammy Award-winning composer and master percussionist Magatte Fall, brings the soul of West African rhythms to life with an innovative fusion of traditional drumming and jazz. Drawing on the rich rhythmic heritage of Mali, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Guinea, Magatte and his ensemble deliver a high-energy, immersive musical experience that transcends borders. Each performance seamlessly blends the powerful beats of Djembe, Sabar, and Kutiro with soulful jazz melodies, captivating audiences with a sound that is both rooted in tradition and refreshingly modern.
Max Percussion has graced stages at prestigious venues, including Joe’s Pub in NYC and Carnegie Hall, where they performed for Angelique Kidjo’s 40-year celebration. Their upcoming show at The Mint in Los Angeles is generating excitement as they continue to expand their fan base. The band also includes talented singers from Guinea, adding rich vocal layers to their sound and creating a compelling cross-cultural musical experience that unites audiences with the vibrant sounds of West Africa.
